Indian Independence Day

vissers indian flowers
What an interesting day it was yesterday. I begrudgingly tore myself away from watching the olympics to attend a celebration of Indian Indepence Day.

Since Visser's Florist supplied the green, white and orange centerpieces, it seemed like the right thing to do. The party was put on by Anaheim City Councilman Harry Sidhu and his wife Gin, who are both good friends of Visser's. It was attended by hundreds of people, from politicians like Orange County Supervisor Chris Norby to neophites like me just wanting to see what was going on.

The party was great. There was a lot of Indian singing and dancing and the Indian food was fantastic. Now I'm really looking forward to next year's celebration.
